Scientist, Chemistry

Do you want to apply your chemistry knowledge and scientific skills to develop solutions that will potentially impact the lives of everyone you know?

This position gives you the chance to combine working with advanced research in an industrial setting. You will participate in the development of magnetic and non-magnetic beads with focus on polymerization, surface coating and surface activation / functionalization.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Apply your excellent skills in planning, designing and executing experimental work in the laboratory as we continue to develop world class products for research and applied markets.

  • Participate in the development of magnetic and non-magnetic beads with focus on polymerization, surface coating and surface activation/functionalization.

  • Plan, design and execute experimental work in the laboratory.

  • Participate in research projects from early feasibility stages to product launches.

  • Interact with application specialists in other parts of R&D - as well as - process development and production teams through various stages of the product development phases.

  • Carry out daily routines in the lab (cleaning/ordering of supplies).

Qualifications needed to be successful:

  • Education/experience:

  • Hold a Master degree in Chemistry (also newly educated candidates without working experience are encouraged to apply)

  • Bachelor degree in Chemistry with experience from relevant industry.

  • Enjoy working in the lab (up to 80% of your time will be spent on lab work).

Laboratory Technician - 6 / 12 months

We currently have a position as Laboratory Technician in our R&D Particles group at Life Technologies AS (previously Dynal). The position is temporary for 6/12 months. The group consist of 12 people and is responsible for the chemical development of new magnetic and non-magnetic monosized beads for bio-applications. We are located in Svelleveien 29 at Lillestrøm just outside Oslo.

Main activities:

  • Participate in the development of micro/nano-particles to be used in medical applications

  • Assist Scientists in their daily work by taking on some of the routine tasks

  • Responsible for cleaning equipment and keeping laboratory areas clean and tidy

  • Participate in experimental work in the laboratory

Desired qualifications and attributes: Finished high school with chemical classes included in education (Kjemi 1 & 2 or Laboratoriefag), quick learner, proactive, Team player, structured, fluent in a Scandinavian language
